Reflective Journal for Business Communication 

Before embarking on the assignment, I was expecting to learn the restaurant’s history and operation as well as life experience of the owner hoping that I would gain some knowledge and be able to use for the future. Moreover, expect to make good questionnaire so that we could get the best answer so that we can proceed with our assignment without much obstacle as well as effective communication. Overall, the Business Communication’s group assignment was pretty interesting and meets most of my expectation. For me, a better communication within the group members is gain and strong friendship is built. Another expectation fulfill is my expectation on learning to become a successful businessman by the physical information, life experience and the inspiration given by the owner.

 Looking into the interview session, everything went smoothly apart from the busyness of the owner of Facebook café, Mr.Chao due to unforeseen circumstances. We had made an appointment with Mr. Chao at 10am sharp to conduct the interview in his restaurant. However, we had waited the owner for another two hours. Although some of us are impatient but fortunately enough that the interview session went well as Mr. Chao is humor enough to make the interview session become interesting and cheerful. He is a successful businessman who is helpful and passion; there are tones of appreciation for his generosity to cooperate with us.

Writing on the assignment was fun. Our leader split up the work and divides to various parts for each of us. We are required to finish it and submit one week before the due date. I wrote regarding the problems on what a restaurant usually faces and how to deal with them. With this information, I believe I would be able to aid myself in the future if I own a store and should be able to breeze through similar problem that I face. Furthermore, I was totally impressed by the introduction I wrote. This was the first ever impressive introduction I wrote and it give people the urge heading to Facebook Café. Apart from my work, I was proud of my group members’ work where their efforts are there. I am glad that all of us try our best and successfully complete this assignment and due on time. However, if I would ever given a chance, I would suggest to have a meeting where everyone will be brought together to work on the report. Definitely, I would lead the final report to be better as we can learn more and not just focus on our own part.

Come to the end, I would want to take the opportunity to thank Mr. Chao Huang Yi that made this assignment complete. Besides that, I feel lucky because I have such a great team that willing to contribute and help each other whenever difficulties come. I realized that establish a good friendship goes a long way which I appreciate it as I progress throughout my studies. In other words, these assignments benefit me a lot far more than I could describe.
